Absolutely love this arrangement. I stitched a pillow with an icy cold design with holly and ivy and this arrangement will compliment it. Beautiful arrangement!

Michelle,
We would recommend creating your bouquet early to mid-morning of the day of your wedding. Roses love their water, so be sure to float soak the wet foam as directed in the instructions. Wet foam is made to hold water without dripping for a good length of time. How long depends on the type of flowers used, as some are 'heavy drinkers' and some not.

Best wishes for the wedding!

Hi Michelle! Welcome to Design It Flowers! The stopper was put in to prevent water going into the handle. If you prepare the wet foam correctly (float soaking); and create your bouquet early on the same day, your flowers should stay fresh for your event. If the flowers should need "freshening" with water, hold the bouquet over a sink, and pour water in between the flowers to renew the wet foam. We have seem people remove the stopper to put decorative additions in the handle, i.e., sparkling ribbon, sequins. The stopper was put back in so as not to dampen the additions.

Let us know if you have any further questions; and good luck with your event.

For a wedding at 7pm, and using the crystal gala petite bouquet when is the best time frame to make the bouquets? I had planned on making them that morning..and if I do that, how do I keep the floral foam wet so the flowers continue to stay hydrated?

I am using fresh flowers and have purchased the Gala crystal Bouquet holder. There is a plastic stopper under the foam. Do I remove the stopper and fill the stem with water? I will use the float soak as you stated in one of the responses.

Great question, Doreen. A mug plug is a piece of floral foam sized and shaped to fit into a coffee mug. You can see our Desert Foam® Mug Plug at http://www.floracraft.com/products/desert-foam/mug-plug-3/.
